Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre

The soon-to-be-built Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre will accelerate innovation in Toronto and Canada by creating the country’s largest university-based innovation node (Rendering by WEISS/MANFREDI in collaboration with Teeple Architects, Inc.)

The Impact Centre is slated to occupy a next-generation startup incubation space on the sixth floor of the new Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre (SRIC) West, a product of the recent historic $100–million donation to the university by Gerald Schwartz and Heather Reisman. Once completed, the 750,000-square-foot SRIC West will serve as a focal point in the region for artificial intelligence (AI), entrepreneurship, and the development of disruptive innovations. It will support the U of T’s vision to contribute to the study of the ethical use and implications of novel technologies in a fast-changing world. The proposed SRIC building includes around 600 m2 (6,500 sqft) of space for the Impact Centre. Situated on the sixth floor of SRIC West, our dedicated space will also include private offices, meeting rooms, open workspaces, and research facilities for product development.

Until the new space is constructed, the Impact Centre remains at its location at 60 St. George Street, with transitional space in the Banting Institute. Click here for info and access to our prototyping space. Renovations are expected to last into the early 2020s so stay tuned!
